Social Welfare and Development Journal CY 2025

The Social Welfare and Development (SWD) Journal is the offi cial research publication of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Published annually, the journal is dedicated to promoting and disseminating high-quality research conducted by the Department and its partners on issues central to social protection and social welfare development. It features a diverse range of quantitative and qualitative studies across multiple disciplines, as well as rigorous policy analyses that contribute to evidence-informed social development.

In addition to research articles, the SWD Journal publishes papers with signifi cant policy relevance, fostering informed discourse on key issues affecting social welfare and development. Contributions are welcome from DSWD offi ces and personnel, as well as external partners, including individual researchers, academic institutions, non-government organizations (NGOs), government agencies, and other research organizations.

As part of its commitment to innovation and accessibility, the Journal is published in a fully digital format, aligning with the global trend towards digitization in response to the evolving demands of the new normal.
